NARDAC Update Forum
Monday, April 25, 2022 from 2 to 4 PM CT
Members of the North American RDA Committee (NARDAC) and of the RDA Steering Committee (RSC) will present an update on the continuing evolution of RDA (Resource Description and Access) as an international standard for cataloging. Speakers include Elisa Sze, Thomas Brenndorfer, Adam Schiff, Robert Maxwell, Melanie Polutta, and Clara Liao. Topics include NARDAC news, RSC training/outreach update, the new Collections Model change, a case study of the possible RDA extension work on relation designators outside RDA, and an MGD (Metadata Guidance Documentation) demo presentation with specific cataloging examples. Library workers from around the world will be meeting in Washington, DC at #ALAAC22 just over three months from this writing. Catalogers and their colleagues are invited to learn directly from peers, be inspired by amazing speakers such as Jon Cho and Maria Hinojosa, and network with colleagues. Amongst the cataloging-specific program planned are the RDA Forum on Saturday afternoon, June 25th and the Linked Data Forum on Monday afternoon, June 27th.
