Charge: The Virtual Worlds Interest Group provides an opportunity for academic librarians with virtual environment interests and responsibilities to have a place in ACRL to network, share information, ask questions, and work on special projects, promote accessibility and provide programs relevant to academic libraries. The VW Interest Group also works to promote the various uses of virtual reality in all formats (desktop, mobile and headset) to potential and current academic librarians and to improve information literacy (metaliteracy) specifically in virtual spaces. The ACRL VWIG sponsors events, programs and meetings held mainly within the virtual world of Second Life and explores other developing Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality platforms.

Title: Short Poetry Workshop Tour

WHEN:  Wed Feb 16th 9-10am SLT

Where: Meet at Selby Park on COOKIE at the Community Virtual Library

Description: Our topic is writing and literature in virtual worlds!

Come visit a poetry workshop that has been a meeting space for writing and sharing poetry since 2008.  Many books of poetry written in SL are archived at the Short Poetry Workshop and the participants meet weekly on TUES at 7pm.The ACRL Virtual World Interest Group will visit the workshop, interact with the many books available and discuss the possibilities of creativity in virtual worlds.
