Hi Nicole,
Welcome! We are so glad you are here! Thanks for sharing about some of the great work you're doing on the ACRL AI Competencies for Library Workers task force, and your upcoming six-week online course via Infopeople, plus your blog! Looking forward to digging into what you shared. As you probably already saw in Heather's intro and some of our other replies on the list, Heather and I will begin posting discussion topics (and planning events!) this week and the next, so you should receive more info soon as we get our feet under us as co-convenors. Looking forward to more discussion soon!

Subject: Welcome and introductions!
Hi everyone,
I'm looking forward to the discussions in this group! I'm Nicole Hennig, e-learning developer at University of Arizona Libraries. I'm also on the ACRL AI Competencies for Library Workers task force, which is really interesting.
Beginning Nov. 5th, I'll be teaching a six-week online course via Infopeople: AI Literacy for Library Workers. Learn more about what I'm up to related to AI on my blog.
Thanks,
Nicole

Welcome, folks, to the ACRL Artificial Intelligence (AI) Discussion Group! This discussion group is co-convened by Virginia (Ginny) Pannabecker and I, and we are so excited to get the conversation started with you all! Ginny and I are both new conveners, and we are working on planning a great series of discussions, presentations, and other engagements throughout the year - - we look forward to sharing more with everyone towards the end of October. In the meantime, please take a moment to introduce yourself, and share what you're most curious about when it comes to AI. For me, I'm most curious about exploring the ways AI can support, extend, and enhance the work we do as librarians, and I'm most interested in discussing with everyone the ways we as librarians can shape, influence, and govern AI to ensure that it remains human-centered, ethical, and in service of the public good.
Can't wait to meet you all, and discuss more soon!
Heather
