    Dear AAMESIG members,

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all Asian, African and Middle Eastern Studies Interest Group (AAMESIG) as the convener of this AAMESIG 20-21.

I take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Deepa Banerjee. I work at University of Washington Libraries as a South Asian Studies Librarian since 2006 and have been AAMES and now AAMESIG member for more than a decade now. I have held former AAMES/AAMESIG positions as convener and as chairs of publications and nomination committee. I have also presented for AAMESIG Research forum that provided a platform to present or discuss your research as AAMESIG members. I am enthusiastically looking forward to connecting with all of you and working collaboratively for advancing the goals and mission of AAMESIG.

I welcome your suggestions and ideas to for AAMESIG programs and meetings. I propose a zoom meeting in November to welcome you in person and have a brainstorming session. Will send you a zoom link once the meeting date and time has been finalized.

Please feel free to write to me directly or using this listserv if you have any questions or suggestions regarding AAMESIG. Looking forward to hearing from you,

    Thanks.
