Our discussion will center on the value and purpose of our residency programs; how they have been intentionally designed – either prior to recruitment or, in some cases, in response to it; and the ways we have implemented multi layered structures of support, community, and mentorship, including sustained support for professional development. Each presenter will also share how they have worked to foster a welcoming and inclusive organizational environment for their residents, assessed their programs, and supported residents through their post residency transition.
About the Presenters:
- Tarida Anantachai is the Residency Coordinator and Director of Talent Management at NC State University. She is also a former resident librarian of Syracuse University.
- Denelle Eads is the Residency Coordinator and Employee Relations and Staff Development Librarian at UNC Charlotte.
- Hannah Park (she/her) is the Residency Coordinator and Education Librarian at American University.
- K.T. Vaughan is the Residency Coordinator and University Librarian at Washington & Lee University. She is also a former Libraries Fellow of NC State University.
- Eric Glenn is the Residency Coordinator and Director of Organizational Development at Virginia Tech.
- Roberto Silva is the Residency Coordinator and Head of the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute Health Sciences and Technology Library at Virginia Tech.
