Charge: To support current and former residents to network, share their expertise, gain national leadership and service experience, and prepare for transitioning to post-residency positions through: a) advancing resident education and residents’ professional success through inter-collegiate collaboration; b) creating programming and resources that center residents; c) advocating for current residents through a liaison relationship with the ACRL Diversity Alliance; d) providing opportunities to engage in research on residencies; and e) centralizing information regarding program availability.

    William & Mary Libraries Travel Grant: TILC 2025, Williamsburg, VA

    The Innovative Library Classroom (TILC) is pleased to announce the William & Mary Libraries Travel Grant to attend the 2025 conference, held at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA on June 5th and 6th, 2025. The $800 grant will help someone from an underrepresented and/or marginalized group attend the conference by providing funding for travel, registration, and accommodations at a nearby hotel. Multiple grants may be awarded.
     
    To be eligible to apply for the travel grant you must:
    • Be working in librarianship (professional or paraprofessional), pursuing a job in librarianship, or enrolled in an ALA accredited post-graduate program.
    • ​Identify as a member of a racial or ethnic minority in the United States, the LGBTQ+ community, or as a person with a disability. Underrepresented and/or marginalized groups are identified in accordance with the ALA's Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach recruitment resources.
     
    Applications will be accepted until Monday, March 3rd. Applicants will be notified of the decision of the grant committee before general registration for the conference opens on April 10th. 
     
    Submit your application here. Applications must include an essay of approximately 500 words that addresses how attending TILC will help you reach your professional and/or pedagogical goals and how this grant will fill a gap in your professional development opportunities. The criteria for scoring essays can be found here

    The William & Mary Libraries Travel Grant helps someone from an underrepresented and/or marginalized group attend the conference by providing financial assistance. Underrepresented and/or marginalized groups are identified in accordance with the ALA's Office of Diversity recruitment resources. Prior to 2020 the award was called The Innovative Library Classroom Travel Grant. See previous recipients here.
