Seeking Insights on AI Labs or Studios in Academic Libraries

  • 1.  Seeking Insights on AI Labs or Studios in Academic Libraries

    Posted 22 days ago

    Hello everyone,

I'm interested in hearing from colleagues who have created-or are in the process of planning-an AI Lab or Studio within their library. My institution is beginning to explore the idea of developing a dedicated space for AI exploration, learning, and collaboration, and I'd love to gather insights from others who have undertaken similar projects.

If your library has implemented an AI-focused lab, makerspace, or studio, I'd appreciate learning more about:

    • The purpose and scope of your lab (e.g., teaching, research support, creative experimentation, or student projects)

    • Funding and staffing considerations

    • The technologies, tools, or platforms you're using

    • How you're addressing ethical use, accessibility, and literacy in this context

    • Any lessons learned or advice for those just starting out

Even if your project is still in the conceptual or planning stages, I'd love to hear about your goals, challenges, or ideas.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and thoughts-this is such an exciting and evolving area for academic libraries!

    Best,
