I would like to partner with someone to propose a Community Chats at ACRL 2023 this March.
Currently, I have the following. I could add up to 90 words to the description. Questions are open for workshopping, too. If you are interested, please let me know at jastubbs@bradley.edu as we must submit by Jan 31.
Title: One-Shots special issue CRL 83(5): Let's talk about it!
Short description: September 2022's special issue of College and Research Libraries brought together many ideas about pedagogy and instruction for librarians. Here's a chance to talk about what we read. If Scholarship is a Conversation, why not practice it in person? Maybe you'll connect with a future co-author. Maybe you'll engage in constructive debate.
Three questions to get things started:
- What could librarians' signature pedagogy be, beyond these defaults?
- When/where/what are effective situations and parameters for one-shots?
- How can we "slow our roll" bringing presence, reflection, or criticality to instruction sessions?
