Charge: To support current and former residents to network, share their expertise, gain national leadership and service experience, and prepare for transitioning to post-residency positions through: a) advancing resident education and residents’ professional success through inter-collegiate collaboration; b) creating programming and resources that center residents; c) advocating for current residents through a liaison relationship with the ACRL Diversity Alliance; d) providing opportunities to engage in research on residencies; and e) centralizing information regarding program availability.

    On behalf of the Social Media & Web Comms Team, we would like to announce that we have created an Instagram account for RIG (@acrlrig)!! Please follow us and share it with other librarians, especially other current and former residents. 
    If you have anything that you would like us to post, you can submit that to us by emailing acrlrigsocialmedia@gmail.com.
     Suggestions for posts include (but are not limited to):
    • Photos from professional development like attending or presenting at conferences, training programs, etc.
    • Research, articles, or blog posts authored by residents, written about residents, or that could be beneficial to residents
    • Resident meetups
    • Permanent job offer announcements!  
    These things do not have to be new. If you are a current resident and wrote something, presented at a conference, etc. in the last couple of years, send it to us! 
     
    We also want to start doing Resident of the Month posts. If you would like to be featured please email us (acrlrigsocialmedia@gmail.com):
    • Your name and pronouns 
    • Photo and bio 
    • Advice you would share with current and/or future residents
