    Communicating Evidence-Based Practice: Using Standards to Find Common Ground

    Have you faced challenges in providing appropriate library support for Evidence-Based Practice instruction? While EBP is a key concept in many areas of health sciences education, approaches to teaching, understanding, and applying it can vary between different health professions and institutions.

    In this ACRL Health Sciences Interest Group First Friday Forum, guest speaker Caitlin Plovnick will provide a brief overview of some of the accreditation standards and program objectives that describe EBP in different health professions. Caitlin Plovnick is the Lead for Education and Curriculum Integration at NYU Health Sciences Library, where she provides oversight and coordination for the library's support of health professions education across the undergraduate-graduate medical education continuum. She has encountered many different approaches to EBP and looks forward to sorting through them together in this First Friday Forum!

    Come share your experiences with developing library instruction for EBP and hear how others have approached different standards and objectives for EBP.  We will look at how EBP standards can inform intentional and focused instruction programs but can also complicate expectations. We will share strategies for navigating different standards and addressing communication challenges.
