Dear Members,
Constellate and the ACRL Digital Scholarship Section (DSS) Professional Development Committee, in collaboration with the DSS Numeric and Geospatial Data Services Discussion Group and the DSS Digital Humanities Discussion Group, are pleased to host "Supporting Text Analysis and Language Models in the Library," a 3-part workshop series for librarians and archivists.
Session 1: What can we do with text analysis?
Session 2: Introduction to language modeling
Session 3: Choose your own adventure
The first workshop will focus on how researchers are currently using text analysis, including the areas libraries can offer the best support. The second workshop will focus on how language models can be used for academic research. The third workshop topic will be decided by participant voting.

Presenters include:
Dr. Nathan Kelber is the Constellate Education Manager for JSTOR Labs and Director of the Text Analysis Pedagogy Institute. He is an international speaker and educator on teaching text analysis in higher education and cultural heritage institutions. Part digital humanist and part data scientist, his projects bridge research communities, improve access to open educational resources, and apply machine learning for social good.
Dr. Zhuo Chen is a Text Analysis Instructor at Constellate. Zhuo holds a Ph.D. degree in Linguistics from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. During her Ph.D., she did textual analysis of child language data using Python and taught tutorials to undergraduate students.
