Rayyan hosts the CORD-19 dataset

  • 1.  Rayyan hosts the CORD-19 dataset

    Hi, folks!

A researcher I'm working with just shared this news with me, that Rayyan is hosting the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD-19). She asked, "Does this mean it will save the step of conducting a search in databases?" I am skeptical about this replacing all databases, but I am admittedly new to this dataset. I've also never searched within Rayyan; I've only used it with citations I've found elsewhere and imported into Rayyan for screening.

I would very much appreciate hearing people's thoughts on how they have used or might use CORD-19 (and CORD-19 within Rayyan) in evidence synthesis projects on COVID-related topics.

    Thank you,
    Samantha

Subject: Rayyan hosts the CORD-19 dataset, adds the ability to copy, and more.

We have some exciting news to share with our research community:

Rayyan hosts the CORD-19 dataset, adds the ability to copy, and more.

CORD-19 - As an ongoing part of our effort to contribute to the fight against the pandemic, we are providing every researcher undertaking Covid-19 related research free access to a hosted copy of the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset (CORD19), updated weekly, to make it easier to conduct Covid related reviews on Rayyan. The current dataset contains 681,646 references relevant to COVID-19 research ready to be filtered and copied into your own Covid-19 related reviews.

Please help us "spread the word to stop the virus"! Share this news on social media with hashtags #COVID19 #Corona #Covid and tag us at @rayyanapp, or retweet the following:

Spread the word to stop the virus! @rayyanapp hosts the CORD-19 dataset, making it easy for researchers to review relevant studies faster using Rayyan's powerful AI enhanced workbench. It's FREE! https://ryn.ai/covid19 #COVID19 #coronavirus #covid #SARSCoV2 #medlibs #Epidemiology

How to use the hosted CORD-19 dataset with Rayyan:

    1. Create a new review as the target if you do not already have one.

    2. Click on "All Reviews" and then select the CORD-19 Review under the "Other Reviews" tab.

    3. Apply filters to the dataset, including search criteria, as desired, to select the most relevant references to be copied.

    4. Press the (New!) Copy button and select Filtered.

    5. Select the target review from step 1 above to receive your filtered data set and press OK.

    6. Click on "All Reviews" to open your target COVID-19 review and you are ready to get started!

Copy Feature – As described in the steps above, Rayyan now allows you to copy all or some of your references from a review by filtering, pressing copy, selecting All or Filtered and then selecting your target.

Private Full-Text PDFs – Rayyan has removed the option to *publicly* upload full text PDFs for sharing with those outside of your review team. All full text PDF uploads will remain strictly private so that only those on your review team will have access to the uploaded full texts.

Automatic Deduplication – Rayyan automatically deduplicates identical duplicate articles. These will appear in an Auto Deduplication facet of the workbench. For articles that are not 100% identical, Rayyan provides a similarity rating and an easy, familiar workflow for deciding which remaining articles are duplicates. These will appear in the Possible Duplicates facet of the workbench.

Pro Tip: Rayyan's workbench facets can be moved around via drag and drop and collapsed/expanded into any configuration you'd like to keep the most relevant filters on top.
