Dear ANSS colleagues -
If you're a subscriber to ProQuest-produced abstracting and indexing databases in the social sciences, would you please check on something to make sure I'm not nuts ...
It appears that International Bibliography of the Social Sciences and Sociological Abstracts stopped indexing articles appearing in Elsevier journals in 2022 or 2023. Neither database indexes Social Science & Medicine after 2022.
In SocAbs, publisher(elsevier) filtered for scholarly journals plummets from 2,671 hits in 2022 down to 264 in 2023. Following years have fewer article counts.
In IBSS, publisher(elsevier) filtered for scholarly journals shows a similar slash : 3,687 hits in 2022 down to 49 hits in 2023 and zero hits in more recent years.
I would complain, but recent experience suggests ProQuest doesn't really care about quality.
Yours, Lauris
