Charge: The composition and the duties of the Board of Directors are defined in Article IX of the ACRL Bylaws: Board of Directors. The Board of Directors shall have general oversight and direction of the affairs of the Association. It shall conduct all business pertaining to the Association, and shall have authority to make decisions for the Association during the periods between meetings.

    Dear ACRL Board,

     

    Please see the attached document packet regarding the revised Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. The Board is invited to hold an asynchronous discussion by responding to this Connect post during the period of 8/5/2026–8/11/2026.

     

    Following the discussion period, the Board will vote asynchronously on the action request during the period of 8/12/2026–8/18/2026 and confirm votes at the ACRL Fall Board Virtual Meeting.

    Hi all - I don't have much substantive feedback on the content (I gave it during the open comment period). I do think some copy editing would be helpful and I think we should have fewer disposition bullets - particularly for the last frame. It seems a bit overwhelming.

    I do appreciate the appendix but wonder if we could beef up the section on disciplinary faculty engagement? This is an area that I know my own institution is always working towards and more authoritative documentation from ACRL that could be shared with faculty will help support positioning our expertise and relevance across campus.

    Thank you very much for the opportunity to provide feedback. I agree with Yasmeen's suggestion that some of the bullet points could be condensed or removed. Also, to build on her point about copy-editing, has someone gone through the links to confirm they all still work, and if they lead to an article, that the article is freely available in full-text? As a related issue (and I know it is late in the process), do we need additional recent works as citations, even if the older ones still have value and relevance? Finally, do we have a visual timeline of the changes to the Framework that we could include?
