Open letter on NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy

  • 1.  Open letter on NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy

    Posted May 16, 2024 02:36 PM

    Dear Colleagues,

    Apologies for cross-posting. A group of data librarians, including myself, has just published an open letter (http://doi.org/10.1126/science.adn5594 , doi: 10.1126/science.adn5594) to the NIH about the 2023 Data Management and Sharing Policy in Science. In it, we call for:

      *   Increased transparency about awarded DMS Plans

      *   Increased training and resources

      *   Increased support for repositories

    In addition to the version published in Science, we have made a longer version of the open letter available on OSF: NIHDMSP_OpenLetter.pdf

    We are asking for our colleagues to add their signature to this open letter, which you can do here: Open Letter Signature

    Please read through the open letter, and, if you wish, fill out the survey to add your signature.

    Thank you.
