Needs assessment for Evidence Synthesis or Systematic Review Service

    Hi everyone,

I am curious about how librarians have approached doing a needs assessment to determine how much demand there may be (and from which campus departments/units at their institutions) for their library to introduce an evidence synthesis or systematic review service.  We've thought about a survey, but want to be sure we do not get hopes up as we have limited staffing.  We've considered perhaps interviewing potentially interested parties, going beyond the health sciences, and recognize that some disciplines may have a clearer understanding than others of what systematic reviews and evidence syntheses may be, so some educating may be required.  If you've done anything like this before, I'd love to learn more about your approach and would be particularly interested in who you reached out to and how you framed your questions.  Thank you very much!

    Best,
    Bonnie
