Charge: To support current and former residents to network, share their expertise, gain national leadership and service experience, and prepare for transitioning to post-residency positions through: a) advancing resident education and residents’ professional success through inter-collegiate collaboration; b) creating programming and resources that center residents; c) advocating for current residents through a liaison relationship with the ACRL Diversity Alliance; d) providing opportunities to engage in research on residencies; and e) centralizing information regarding program availability.

    Hello, RIG folks!

    The NC State University Libraries is now accepting applications for the 2022 offering of the Library Technology Career Jumpstart Program. Based on helpful feedback from potential applicants, the eligibility criteria have been expanded and the application deadline extended!

    The program is now open to students from ALA accredited programs with an anticipated graduation date of May 2023 or later, and the application deadline has been extended to May 15th.

    The Library Technology Career Jumpstart Program will be offered virtually for the third year in a row from the NC State University Libraries during the week of August 1-5, 2022. The Jumpstart Program is a free, immersive, weeklong virtual experience that will help to prepare first-year library school students for a career in library technology upon graduation.

    Participants will...

    • develop an ongoing relationship with a mentor

    • glimpse "a day in the life" of tech librarians

    • attend technical workshops

    • network with professionals at top institutions

    • build technical portfolios

    • learn how to apply and interview for technical positions in libraries
