Thank you for this topic. This semester I have two graduate ILS interns and decided that I would make part of their hours professional development - things that they probably didn't get in grad school or that would be a good extension of something they learned about in classes, all related to academic librarianship. I know that while professional development was mentioned in my schooling, it wasn't emphasized in a "you really need to start doing this asap" way. I'm hoping to
I've set up a guide where I add articles, videos, webinars, etc. that I think would be useful. They report to me each week with what they read/watched. https://libguides.southernct.edu/internpd I'm still taking suggestions, and will be mining the upcoming column for ideas!

Subject: Journal of Graduate Librarian's (JGL) Practitioner Panel
Graduate librarians can learn so much from each other, and it doesn't always have to be through full articles. JGL seeks to collect small suggestions, tidbits of experience, and nuggets of wisdom in our Practitioner Panel column. We periodically send a question or prompt out to the community and solicit your responses. We'll then pull responses together into a short column we'll share.
Our current Practitioner Panel question is: What have you read or listened to recently that has informed your work as a graduate librarian, and how? Share your thoughts via our online form.
