Looking for service opportunities? We have two (and possibly three) open positions on the RUSA History Section Executive Committee beginning in Fall 2026. The positions are listed below:
Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect/Past-Chair, 2026-2029
Nominating yourself for this position is a 3-year commitment on the Executive Committee. You will begin as Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect (2026-2027). In your second year you will serve as Chair (2027-2028) and in your third year you will serve as Past Chair (2028-2029).
Member-at-Large, 2026-2029
The RUSA History Section has 3 Members-at-Large, each with staggered terms. We only need to nominate one new member this year.
Potential Position: Chair/Past-Chair, 2026-2028
We are currently without a Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect for this and next year so we could also create a position in the election for a Chair/Past-Chair to serve our section beginning next year (2026-2028), and you would still have my help as Past-Chair. Just let me know if you are interested. If we do not receive any nominations for this position, I will need to continue on as Chair next year.
You can learn more about each position and the work involved from the RUSA History Section Handbook. You must join the RUSA History Section to have your name added to the ballot and maintain an active membership with the RUSA HS for your years of service.
