If so, the Hunt Library at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, invites you to apply for the position of Cataloging and Metadata Librarian. This non-tenure track position is responsible for cataloging library materials and handling institutional repository metadata and additional metadata projects as needed.
Required qualifications:
- ALA-accredited master's degree in library science or information science
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of nationally-accepted standards used in cataloging
- Thorough knowledge of OCLC
- Experience with a Library Systems cataloging module
- Practical knowledge of RDA, LC subject headings and classification schedules and other library standards
- Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems
- Experience in planning and implementing metadata projects; metadata schema adaptation; and developing local standards, policies and procedures.
The Hunt Library is located on the upper two floors of the new Mori Hosseini Student Union and provides services to over 6,000 residential and 22,000 distance education students who focus their studies on aviation, aerospace, and business topics. Located in Daytona Beach, Florida, we also enjoy mild winters, nearby beaches, and a variety of special events.
