    Dear Visual Literacy Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the official Call for Proposals for the 56th Annual Conference of the International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA). This is a unique opportunity for professionals, educators, researchers, and students engaged in the field of visual literacy to contribute to the discourse and share their insights, research, and innovations.

Call for Proposals Opens: March 1, 2024

Deadline for Submission: March 30, 2024

The conference theme for this year is "Illuminating Perspectives through Critical Visual Literacy". We invite you to explore and discuss various aspects of this theme with us as we delve into the realm of personal and collective meaning-making, agentive practice, and the transformation of sociopolitical realities.

Whether it's innovative teaching methods, cutting-edge research, or case studies demonstrating the impact of visual literacy in various fields, we want to hear from you.

This conference will be a hybrid conference featuring an online conference day Monday, November 4th with in-person conference events happening Sunday, October 6th through Wednesday, October 9th.

For more information about the conference, including important dates, registration rates, and hotel information, make sure to expand the drop down tabs on the IVLA Conference Page.

Submissions can be made directly through our online submissions portal.

Selected participants will be notified by May 15, 2024, and will have the opportunity to present their work to a global audience of visual literacy advocates and practitioners.

Don't miss this chance to contribute to the field and connect with fellow visual literacy professionals. We look forward to receiving your proposals and to an exciting and insightful conference.
