Invitation to participate in a academic library research services survey

  • 1.  Invitation to participate in a academic library research services survey

    Posted Jul 14, 2025 04:56 PM

    Hello,

We invite you to participate in a research study about the academic library's role in supporting research services. This survey is geared toward higher education research institutions in the United States and is aligned with the ACRL Research and Scholarly Environment Committee (ReSEC) work.

If you choose to be in the study, you will complete an online survey, which will take 10-15 minutes. The survey will allow us to collect and analyze data to present a snapshot of academic and higher education library services, resources, and facilities supporting research in the United States. We seek to develop an action-oriented framework that academic libraries can use to guide research services and infrastructure creation.

We ask that only one individual per institution take this survey and suggest that the person completing it be able to represent the current strategy, staffing, and other information related to provisioning research services within their library (either by direct knowledge or having consulted with the responsible individuals). Individuals taking this survey must be at least 18 years old. To help you determine the best person to complete the survey, you may view all questions before starting the study.

You can skip questions you do not want to answer or stop the survey anytime. Please provide your name and affiliation at the end of the survey for possible follow-up by the study PIs. Otherwise, your responses to the survey are confidential and anonymous. Please do not include your name or other information that could be used to identify you in the survey responses unless you are volunteering for a follow-up interview.

Please contact the primary investigators (listed below)  with questions about this study. If you have questions or concerns about your rights as a research participant, you can call the University of Nevada  Research Integrity & Security administration at (775) 327-2368, which approved this study.

Being in this study is optional. If you want to participate, click this link to start the survey:
