Greetings.
The 2022 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Annual Meeting will be
held in Philadelphia, and online, February 17-20.
http://meetings.aaas.org
This year's theme, Empower With Evidence, states:
"Research provides an unparalleled opportunity to explore and transform our world in all its complexity and mechanistic detail. It enables us to uncover fundamental aspects of how we relate to our world and to one another. And yet, while the trajectory of the future will be defined by both the predictable and unexpected consequences of current scientific endeavors, the value of and trust in science have diminished. Science literacy, evidence-based decision making, science-based planning, and the use of validated knowledge to drive public policy are no longer universal societal aspirations. Engagement and communication must ensure that the value of science becomes accessible to all."
AAAS will fully fund the registration fees for 30 librarians!
Sponsored registration will be awarded based on the timestamp of your request,
with preference given to first-time attendees at a AAAS meeting. If there are
more than 30 requests, people will go on a wait-list.
Awardees are expected to share what they learn by contributing notes on
sessions they attend to a report which may be shared, in whole or part, via
ACRL Insider, ISTL, or other ACRL venues.
In addition to the always-amazing meeting content, you can share information
about innovations at your library during a session for library and information
professionals.
