    I am Chairing a Discussion Forum for EBSS (Education and Behavioral Sciences Section) of ACRL. I would like to invite you to register for this upcoming event and/or share with your networks!

     

    Discussion Forum: Data Visualization for Social Justice - May 16, 2022 03:00 PM in Central Time (US and Canada)

     

    The Education and Behavioral Sciences Section (EBSS) and the Digital Scholarship Section (DSS) of ACRL invite you to attend a Discussion Forum on the topic of data visualization and social justice. Three panelists will discuss the ways in which data visualization can be misinterpreted, how to detect when bias is present, and how to analyze visual data through a lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).

     

    Learning Outcomes

    • Identify the ways in which data visualization and the presentation of data can influence social justice
    • Analyze pedagogy that influences interpretation of visual data
    • Recognize socially responsible digital scholarship or data visualization
