Charge: To support current and former residents to network, share their expertise, gain national leadership and service experience, and prepare for transitioning to post-residency positions through: a) advancing resident education and residents’ professional success through inter-collegiate collaboration; b) creating programming and resources that center residents; c) advocating for current residents through a liaison relationship with the ACRL Diversity Alliance; d) providing opportunities to engage in research on residencies; and e) centralizing information regarding program availability.

    FYI! 


    The EJ (Environmental Justice) Griot Project is a communications initiative that is focused on centering the voices of Gen Z and Millennials when discussing the climate crisis. Participants will be trained to develop and clearly articulate an anti-colonial narrative that accurately represents the African American and Latino communities, which are disproportionately impacted by environmental racism and ecological violence.

     

    The EJ Griot Project will consist of an intensive summer training, which will build capacity for leaders ages 22-40 to become environmental justice ambassadors. Learn more and apply before July 18.


    CURRENT EJ Griot Application Process:
    Application Deadline: July 18, 2025
    Notification of Virtual Interview: by July 21, 2025
    Brief Virtual Interviews (only for those who received notice): July 22-25, 2025
    Announcement of the EJ Griot Project Cohort: July 28, 2025

    Project Timeline: July 28-September 5, 2025


    Additional requirements and application information: 
    -- Individuals from frontline/historically disadvantaged communities are encouraged to apply
    --Applicants should be between 22-40 years old
    --Applicants must reside in Baltimore, Flint (Genesee County), Memphis (Shelby County), or Washington, DC
    --1 professional reference letter is required
