The Innovative Library Classroom 2023 will be held at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA on June 1-2, 2023. The William & Mary Libraries Travel Grant will help someone from an underrepresented and/or marginalized group attend the conference by providing funds to travel and attend the conference.

    To be eligible you must:
    • Be working in librarianship (professional or paraprofessional), pursing a job in librarianship, or enrolled in an ALA accredited post-graduate program.
    • Identify as a member of a racial or ethnic minority in the United States, the LGBTQ+ community, or as a person with a disability. Underrepresented and/or marginalized groups are identified in accordance with the ALA's Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach recruitment resources.

Applicants will be rated on: clarity, commitment to innovative teaching and learning, strong ability to apply the TILC experience to professional and pedagogical goals, and statement of need.

Applications accepted until Monday, February 27, 2023. All applicants will be notified of the committee's decision before general registration opens on April 3rd. Applicants who are not awarded a grant but would still like to attend the conference must participate in general registration.

The William & Mary Libraries Travel Grant is $800. After receiving the grant, each recipient will be responsible for booking their own travel and accommodations. In the event that the conference is cancelled or a recipient cannot attend, recipients will be responsible for returning any unused funds, minus any non-refundable fees.
