Not yet a member of CORE?  In the area of assessment and research, we often run on parallel tracks!  The Library Research Round Table (LRRT) has three elected positions to fill: Chair-Elect and Member-at-Large (2 vacancies).   Whether or not you're already active in CORE - this is a great opportunity to join a group that shares many of our assessment/measurement interests!

On behalf of the LRRT nominating committee:

    Hello colleagues,

The Library Research Round Table (LRRT) seeks nominations for three elected positions on the LRRT Steering Committee: Chair-Elect and 2 Member-at-Large positions. (Descriptions at the end of the message)

These service opportunities are a wonderful way to develop your leadership skills in a friendly and supportive environment, get involved with fellow LRRT members, and learn more about ALA  and LRRT. LRRT provides public program opportunities to disseminate research findings and educate the professional community on research techniques for problem-solving and decision-making. Candidates must be LRRT members in good standing at the time of election (Spring 2024).

We welcome and value candidates with all levels of experience. If you want to invest in the future of LRRT and our profession, and have time to serve, then you are a qualified candidate! The LRRT Nominating Committee would love to hear from you and answer your questions.

Below are the responsibilities of each position:

    Chair-Elect

Three-year term (July 2024-June 2027), one year each as Chair-Elect, Chair, and Past-Chair. Supports the Chair with managing LRRT activities such as the LRRT Forum Program at ALA Annual, Mentorship Program, Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research, Library Research Seminar planning, and other potential initiatives. Recruits and leads the Nominating Committee as Chair-Elect. Participates in Steering Committee meetings which are all virtual.

    Member-At-Large (2 openings)

1 position: Three-year term (July 2024-June 2027). Represents the interests of the LRRT membership in LRRT program planning. Brings forward ideas for potential programs. Contributes to Steering Committee Meetings.

1 position: Two-year term (July 2024-June 2026). Represents the interests of the LRRT membership in LRRT program planning. Brings forward ideas for potential programs. Contributes to Steering Committee Meetings.
