EXTENDED CFP: Evidence based teaching practice - How are you incorporating evidence into your teaching practices?

The ACRL Health Sciences Interest Group is soliciting speakers for their virtual program "Evidence Based Teaching Practice: How Are You Incorporating Evidence into Your Practice?" This program will be a 90-minute virtual presentation with several speakers addressing the topic. The presentation abstract is as follows:

    Abstract
Evidence based practice has long been a part of the medical profession. As health science information professionals, evidence based practice should be part of how we practice librarianship, especially our instruction practice. What is evidence-based practice? How do we do it? Is it a fad, one more entry on the library bingo card until the next "most important thing" pushes it to the side? How do we collect the evidence to improve our practice and teaching?

In this program sponsored by the ACRL Health Sciences Interest Group a diverse panel of speakers will address these questions and more. Attendees will be able to put together a plan and action items to immediately include evidence based practice into their own librarianship and teaching.

We are seeking speakers from a variety of academic libraries, especially from community college libraries and libraries serving a diverse student population. Speakers should be knowledgeable about and experienced with evidence based practice teaching and able to present on one of the session's proposed learning outcomes.

    Learning Outcomes for the Program:
    - Attendees will be able to identify best practices for evidence based practice in teaching
    - Attendees will be able to create a plan for using evidence based practice in their own teaching
    - Attendees will be able to implement strategies for advocating for the use of evidence based practice in their teaching

Presenters should plan for a 15-20 minute presentation. We will also have a Q&A at the end of the presentations.

This CFP has been extended and the new due date is April 25, 2022. If you are interested in participating in this panel presentation as a speaker, please fill out this Speaker Interest Form by April 25, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. Proposals will be part of a blind peer review process. Speakers will be selected and notified by mid-May.
