  • 1.  EXTENDED! Call for Proposals: 2023 NWILL Conference - NOW DUE MAY 15TH!

    Posted May 03, 2023 11:16 AM

    Greetings!

The deadline to submit proposals for the 2023 NWILL virtual conference has been extended through May 15th. If you thought you didn't have time to finish up your proposal, now you do. We are excited to hear your ideas!

Additionally, we can now announce that our keynote is Shannon Pritting, Director of Library Services, Open, and Digital Learning Assets at Empire State University. He is known as a national leader in affordability and access initiatives. Empire State University is New York state's only online public university.

Interested in presenting? The Planning Committee is accepting presentation proposals through Monday, May 15th at 12 p.m. (noon) PDT.

2022 NWILL attendees indicated a particular interest in the following presentation topics:

    • Budget challenges and logistics

    • Controlled Digital Lending

    • Copyright and CONTU alternatives

    • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility

    • Justifying services and resources

    • Patron outreach/education

    • Training, onboarding, and position documentation

The NWILL Planning Committee welcomes presentations on other topics as well, and encourages anyone who is interested to submit a proposal, regardless of employee classification or organizational affiliation, particularly individuals from underrepresented types of libraries, e.g., tribal and K-12, and underrepresented communities. We truly want the conference to be as representative of our profession as possible. Please indicate in your submission form whether you would like to present a lightning round (7-10 minutes, pre-recorded) or full session (45 minutes, live).

Presenters and co-presenters receive free registration to the conference.

EXTENDED!! Submit a proposal using the NWILL Presentation Proposal Submission Form no later than May 15th, 2023. Expect to hear back by June regarding the status of your proposal.

Session proposals from an organization or company, or their representatives, about their product (e.g., vendors, steering committee members) will not be considered. If you represent an organization or company interested in promoting your product, please click here to contact our Vendor Relations Committee to get more information about our sponsorship opportunities. Proposals submitted by practitioners wishing to present on a product they are not professionally affiliated with is acceptable.

If you have questions, please email the NWILL Planning Committee at nwillconf@gmail.com.

We look forward to hearing from you!
