    Dear EBSS colleagues,

I'm excited to announce the EBSS Executive Committee recently created the EBSS Evidence Synthesis Committee!

The committee's charge is to provide a forum for librarians to cultivate expertise in conducting evidence syntheses (e.g., systematic reviews, scoping reviews) to implement as primary researchers and when advising others in the education and behavioral sciences disciplines. To sponsor networking and professional development opportunities about best practices for developing and providing services related to evidence syntheses.

Some of the first tasks we envision for the committee include an environmental scan of what is being done in EBSS committees regarding evidence synthesis and assessing the needs of EBSS members.

Interested in getting involved? The work of the committee will begin July 1, 2025 to coincide with the ACRL volunteer appointment cycle. For the first year of the committee, we want to have 5 members representing different EBSS disciplines and in year two increase the committee size. This committee is now listed on the EBSS committee volunteer form, so you can indicate your interest in the Evidence Synthesis Committee as well as note your subject area on the form.

If you have any questions, please contact me or Robin Ewing (rlewing@stcloudstate.edu).

    Best,

    Ashlynn Kogut
