I'm curious if there's anyone who has uploaded their MARC records to EDS and eliminated their catalog. Obviously there would be the loss of borrower and circulation records - but I'm more concerned with search/discovery of titles. I'd just want the titles to appear in search results. Then if someone is interested, they can contact our reference service to arrange the checkout.
Our situation - We are 99% virtual, except for about 5k volumes at one campus. We do not plan on expanding to other campuses or purchasing more titles. We're working towards 100% virtual. Frankly, if a student wanted a book, I'd loan it to them indefinitely on the honor system. :) We have extremely low usage of our print collection, and own many of them online!
