clear masks at public service desks

    Hi everyone,

With the return to masking requirements at Penn State, and the return of students to campus, we are looking into the use of clear masks for our public service desk staff for interacting with people who are deaf and hard of hearing. We are considering if we should have all desk staff where clear masks at all times, or whether we should have the clear masks available at our desks for staff to put on when needed, and also if we should have signs at our desks indicating that clear masks are available and staff will where them upon request.

I would love to hear any input from libraries who are using or have used clear masks at their service desks. Thanks for any information! If you'd like to contact me off list you can reach me at dua4@psu.edu.

    Best,
    Dawn
