Dear Chapter Leaders,
I hope you all had a nice summer! I'm writing you one last message as your previous staff liaison before Aleah Price takes over.
Typically, around this time, I would be sending chapter budgets, but I'm letting you know that the ACRL Board of Directors approved to discontinue annual chapter budgets, starting with this fiscal year. Last year, I sent an ALA Connect message to Chapter leaders sharing this proposed action. The Board discussed Chapter funding at both the Fall 2022 meeting and at LibLearnX 2023.
Chapters will still request to receive one free mailing list, as well as two complimentary webcasts. Chapters are also still encouraged to take advantage of the Virtual Chapter Speakers Bureau. The ACRL Chapter Speakers program gives ACRL Chapters the opportunity to invite members of the ACRL Board of Directors to virtually participate in chapter activities.
