The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Image Resources Interest Group (IRIG) is seeking an Incoming Convener for the 2010-2011 year.
The Incoming Convener will work with the Convener and Past Convener to develop meeting, discussion group, program, and project plans; conceptualize and pursue IRIG initiatives and activities in support of member interests and ACRL’s strategic plan; communicate with members, ACRL sections and leadership, and outside organizations; and develop IRIG membership.
The Incoming Convener for 2010-2011 will assume the role of Convener for the 2011-2012 year.
This is an interesting and flexible position, with many opportunities for leadership, involvement with ACRL, and collaborative and creative work.
Please contact Denise Hattwig, IRIG Convener, and Joanna Burgess, IRIG Incoming Convener, if you would like to volunteer for the position of IRIG Incoming Convener/Convener for the 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 years. Please include some information about your interest in images in academic libraries, your involvement with the IRIG, and your experience with committee/collaborative work.
We will also call for volunteers at the IRIG meeting at ALA Annual in Washington, DC (Saturday, June 26, 1:30-3:30, Capital Hilton, Pan American Room). The Incoming Convener will be appointed after ALA Annual, and will begin serving immediately.
