The RIG Programs & Proposals team seeks panelists for a moderated virtual discussion of residency programs for librarians. Speakers can be current or recent resident librarians, coordinators of residency programs, or others that facilitate residency programs. The panel seeks to provide an introduction to residency programs for LIS students interested in applying for such programs. We are tentatively planning for the panel to be hosted in Spring 2023.
Potential topics for questions include:
- Identifying and Applying for Residency Programs
- Personal Experience within Residency Programs
- Strengths and Weaknesses of Residency Programs
- Lessons and Takeaways from Residency Programs
To prioritize the experiences and insights of RIG members, we are putting out a call for any interested speakers from this group with relevant experiences. We will have three or four panelists answering questions and sharing experiences about residency programs for librarians.
If you have any questions, would like to volunteer as a virtual panelist, or have suggestions for potential panelists, please contact Sharon Han at shrnhan@gmail.com by January 27, 2023. Thank you for considering!
