We are very excited to announce the call for the 2024 PR Xchange Awards Competition! Libraries everywhere are producing creative and engaging promotional materials: newsletters, program announcements, annual reports, advocacy materials, fundraising messages, reading celebrations, and much more. Now is the time to receive recognition for your library's dedicated and thoughtful work. The call for submissions for the 2024 PR Xchange Awards competition is now live!

About the PR Xchange Awards Competition

The 2024 PR Xchange Awards Competition recognizes the very best promotional materials produced by libraries in the past year. The PR Xchange Awards Competition is sponsored by Core, a division of the American Library Association (ALA). The PR Xchange Awards Competition is overseen by the PR Xchange Committee.

    Selection Criteria

This year's competition will recognize original materials produced during the previous year (2023 calendar year).  Please note that this competition assesses a library's individual promotional materials, not an entire marketing campaign. Entries are evaluated based on content, design, and originality. They are judged by a team of experts in marketing, public relations, graphic design, and communications, who select the winner(s) in each category. Library web sites are ineligible.

Although the contest is open to both printed and digital promotional materials, if your promotional material is in print, please scan and send it as a digital file (but please submit in the "print" category.

Please do not mail any printed submissions.

    Winners

Winners will be notified in early May 2024. Winning entries will be on display during the PR Xchange Event during the 2024 ALA Annual Conference in San Diego, CA. The PR Xchange Award co-chairs will contact all those who submitted an entry.  Awards will be presented to the winners at the PR Xchange Awards ceremony following the PR Xchange Event in the same space. Winners need not be present to accept their award, but are encouraged to attend.

About the PR Xchange Event at ALA Annual

The PR Xchange is a drop-in style event at the ALA Annual Conference. It will be held on Sunday June 30, 2024  at the ALA Conference site. The room location will be announced in May 2024. Attendees are invited to view and take free copies of award-winning promotional materials from the juried PR Xchange awards, as well as promotional materials from libraries across North America.

Attendees can learn how to improve their own promotional materials by talking with PR Xchange award winners, John Cotton Dana Award Winners, and other invited library marketing experts. Each year, we invite a variety of library marketing experts, John Cotton Dana Awards winners, and library marketing authors to join our event for conversation and exchange of ideas.

The PR Xchange Event and the PR Xchange Awards Competition are both coordinated by the PR Xchange Committee, and sponsored by the Awards and Scholarships subcommittee of Core.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

Best of luck to all participants!
