    Dear Recipient,

I am seeking participation from any employee at an academic library who (1) self-identifies as a mother (including nonbinary, transgender, and gender queer parents) of at least one child under the age of four and (2) is working towards tenure or continuous appointment in an academic library in the United States.

Individuals who are selected to participate in this study will receive a $50.00 gift card from gift cards.com.

You are invited to be a participant in a qualitative research study focused on exploring the lived experiences of individuals who identify as mothers and who are also working towards tenure in an academic library. This phenomenological study will work to identify themes that represent the lived experiences, identities, and understanding of mothers/tenure-track academic librarians.

Participants in this study will be asked to:

    1. Complete a brief demographic data questionnaire (10 minutes)
    2. Participate in a recorded online individual interview via Zoom software. Video and audio will be on for myself as well as the participant. (1 hour)
    3. If necessary, I may follow-up with you via email to confirm data analysis (30 minutes)

Participation in this study is voluntary, and you can choose to withdraw from the study at any time. The Institutional Review Board at Appalachian State University has approved this study.

Confidentiality of all participants will be maintained. Any file that connects your name or email address to this study will be password-protected and accessible only to me (Mollie Peuler). Any personal information will be de-identified before publication. After the study is complete, any files containing identifying information will be deleted.

If you have any questions about this study, please contact me at peulerme@appstate.edu

If you are willing to participate, please email me at peulerme@appstate.edu.

Thank you for your time and interest,

     Mollie
