    The Health Science Librarians of Illinois Jira Scholarship Committee is excited to announce the start of the second year for the Helen Knoll Jira Scholarships for library science students. This year, we have decided to award two $5,000 prizes to our top candidates (double the award from last year!). We have also changed the Scholarship criteria to provide students with more opportunities to network with seasoned librarians who work in the health sciences. Please feel free to share the information below with any students who live, work, or study in Illinois and are enrolled in an accredited Library Sciences Program.

    The application is live as of Friday, April 12, and closes on Saturday, June 15. Winners will be notified in late August. There is also a poster available at the link below to post in student areas. If you have any questions or concerns about the Scholarship, please contact the Scholarship Chair, Holly Hudson, at hhudson@uic.edu.
