    Dear ANSS Colleagues,

    Are you interested in shaping the future of anthropology and sociology librarianship? Looking to connect with colleagues who share your passion for these disciplines? The Anthropology and Sociology Section (ANSS) is currently seeking volunteers for committee appointments for the 2026-2027 term!

    Serving on an ANSS committee is an excellent way to:

    • Contribute to the development of anthropology and sociology librarianship
    • Network with colleagues from diverse institutions
    • Gain leadership experience in academic librarianship
    • Help advance ACRL's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
    • Build your professional service portfolio

    All committee work can be completed virtually, and face-to-face attendance at conferences is not required.

    3. Select ANSS committees that interest you
    4. Submit your form by May 1

    • Nominating Committee
    • Review and Planning Committee
    • Conference Program Planning Committee
    • Instruction and Information Literacy Committee
    • Membership Committee
    • Publications Committee
    • Resource Review and Bibliography Committee
    • Sociology Librarians Discussion Group 

    Committee appointments will begin July 1, 2026. New committee members and those who haven't previously served on ANSS committees are especially encouraged to volunteer. 

    Please note: You must be a current member of both ALA/ACRL and ANSS to be eligible for appointment. If you need to add ANSS to your membership (at no additional cost), please contact ALA Member Services at 1-800-545-2433.
