    Posted Mar 30, 2023 02:53 PM

    Greetings All!

The Research Committee of the ACRL Science and Technology Section (STS) will host two sessions coinciding with the 2023 American Library Association Annual Conference to highlight research and practitioner projects related to science and technology librarianship. The committee is seeking proposals to present at the Annual STS Virtual Research Forum and STS Lightning Talks. Registration for ALA Annual and STS membership is NOT required in order to present at either session.

The STS Lightning Talks are an opportunity to share research endeavors or practitioner projects that enhance science and technology librarianship. Proposals should provide useful and practical findings and describe opportunities for discussion with participants. The sessions will consist of asynchronous presentations and commentary hosted online followed by a synchronous virtual Q&A session on Tuesday, June 20, 2023

The STS Research Forum provides an excellent opportunity to share completed or well-in-progress research projects relevant to science and technology librarianship. Presentations will be 20 minutes long with 10 minutes for Q&A, and the session will be held virtually on Wednesday, June 21, 2023

Submissions should include an abstract that clearly addresses the following:

    • brief background information about your project,

    • the research question or problem that drove your project,

    • the methods used,

    • your findings and a brief discussion that includes the impact of your project,

    • a brief description of any equity, diversity, or inclusion considerations in your work.

NOTE: Proposals are limited to 250 words. Please do not include any identifying elements (name, institution, etc.) in your abstract or title.
