The Big Ten Academic Alliance (BTAA) Student Wellness Symposium planning group invites you to submit a presentation for the inaugural BTAA Student Wellness Symposium taking place online Wednesday April 23rd and Thursday, April 24th.  It's open to anyone - not just BTAA members.
The BTAA Student Wellness Symposium is a space for anyone to share their work surrounding student wellness in the form of a full-length presentation, lightning talk, roundtable discussion or digital poster. We want to hear how you're creating programming, services, and spaces that help students form positive wellness behaviors, supporting their academic and personal goals. We will be offering the following tracks of Instruction and Reference, Spaces and Collections, Programming and Student Engagement, and Partnerships and Outreach to classify your submissions.
    Track descriptions:
    • Instruction and Reference
    • What wellness practices do you bring into the classroom?
    • How do you incorporate student wellness into reference work?
    • Spaces and Collections
    • How are you creating a welcoming atmosphere?
    • What kinds of spaces are you creating to assist our neurodiverse students?
    • What materials (books, equipment, etc.) are you ordering to support the mental health and general wellness of our students?
    • Programming and Student Engagement
    • What library specific programs do you offer around student wellness?
    • How do you incorporate student wellness into training and work activities for student employees?
    • Partnerships and Outreach
    • How are you engaging with the community in wellness programming?
    • What campus or community partners do you work with in student wellness programming and collection development efforts?
    Presentation Formats:
    • Presentation (30 minutes) – A 20-minute presentation or interactive program by one or more presenters that includes approximately 10 minutes for questions/discussion.
    • Lightning Talk (5-7 minutes) – A short presentation given by a single presenter during a session along with other presenters. This format will not include any time for questions.
    • Roundtable Discussion (45 minutes) - A 15-minute presentation by one or more presenters on library-focused research (original or existing) investigating a student wellness topic that includes approximately 30 minutes for questions and discussion. Presenters will facilitate the discussion and will be required to provide 2-4 conversation prompts one week before the colloquium. Roundtable discussions may run concurrently.
