Because of the robust conversations that began at our annual meeting at ALA, the Access Services Interest Group (ASIG) is excited to continue the dialogue this fall. Please register and join us on November 5th at 2PM (Eastern Time) for a fall virtual event. This event will provide a dedicated space to expand on the topics that matter most to you and your fellow Access Services colleagues.
As your fellow co-convenors are planning this event, we ask that you submit your topics ideas ahead of time so that we can plan break-out rooms accordingly. We plan to have a minimum of 6 rooms, with a co-convenor staffing each room to help moderate the sessions.
During this session, we'll dig into timely issues such as the future impact of AI on our work, advocating for fair salaries, and the everyday challenges that come with supporting our libraries and communities. Most importantly, we want this hour to feel like a supportive and safe environment where you can:
-
Share your experiences and insights
-
Learn from others facing similar challenges
-
Gather practical advice and strategies to make your work easier
Whether you're looking to brainstorm solutions, spark new ideas, or simply connect with others who understand your role, this is your opportunity to be part of a meaningful, forward-looking conversation.
We hope you'll join us in building connections, exchanging ideas, and shaping the future of Access Services together.
We appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to meeting with you again in November!
Sincerely,
Loftan, Christine, Andrew, Jeff, Erin, Tiffany, and our honorary co-convenors this year - Lorelei and Tori
