When your patrons see a book or an article online they need, do you wish they could see that your library had it too? Linked data is making these connections between your library and the wider web possible. Come hear Ted Fons, author of the Library Technology Report Improving Web Visibility: Into the Hands of Readers, describe ways that libraries can expose content and services to the web to meet your users where they are right now! Three academic librarians and three public librarians, Kenning Arlitsch from Montana State University, James Hahn from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Qiang Jin from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Sharon Day from Edmonton, Susan Allen from Worthington, Ohio, and Erica Findley from Multnomah County, Oregon, will also discuss the impact of linked data on their collections and services. This is a full-day event, on Friday June 23rd, with pricing at registration available at: http://www.ala.org/alcts/events/ac/2017/catalogingmetadata
