Hi y'all,
We are
just one week away from the deadline (Sept. 30th) for nominations for the ALA 2023 offices of President-Elect/President and Councilor-at-Large.
The term for President-Elect is 2023-24, President, 2024-25, and immediate past president, 2025-26.
Councilors-at-Large will serve a three year term that will begin after the 2023 ALA Annual Conference and end following the 2026 Annual Conference.
Nominations can be submitted to any member of the ALA 2023 Nominations Committee (including me, full list below).
Interested candidates should complete the biography form by September 30, 2022 -
https://officers.directnominations.net/.For more information go to:
ALA Nominating Committee Seeks Candidates for 2023 Election.
The elections will take place March 13 - April 5, 2023.
Again, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. And don't let imposter syndrome get to you! If you are an ALA member, invested in ensuring the organization does the work that the profession needs it to do, and have the time to serve as a voice for your fellow library workers, then you ARE qualified to run - especially for Council! Our organization functions best when voices from all stages of career are heard.
Stay safe,
Matthew Noe
