Are you passionate about collection services? Would you like to make a scholarly impact that contributes to the profession and strengthens your subject knowledge? Resources for College Libraries (RCL), the bibliography of essential titles for undergraduate libraries, is seeking a new subject editor for Latin American History.

The Latin American History editor will manage the ongoing development of the core title list, including:

    • Selecting new title additions, including select web resources
    • Updating, reviewing, and weeding current selections
    • Maintaining and refining the subject taxonomy and scope note
    • Responding to recommendations from peer reviewers
    • Integrating advancements in disciplinary research, teaching, and scholarship

Successful subject editors balance broad and deep subject expertise, familiarity with undergraduate teaching and research, and discerning judgment to maintain the RCL bibliography of current and canonical works for academic libraries. This is a multi-year commitment that involves approximately 25 hours/year, together with flexible deadlines and remote workflows. This is a professional service opportunity; subject editors also receive an annual honorarium.

To apply, submit a CV along with a brief statement on collection development and/or subject liaison experience in the discipline to Anne Doherty, RCL Project Editor, at adoherty@ala-choice.org. The RCL Editorial Board is committed to pursuing equity and inclusion and seeks editorial participants with diverse backgrounds and new perspectives.
