Dear Colleagues,
The ACRL Technical Services Interest Group focuses on the special needs and interests of all technical services workers in academic libraries.
We are looking for speakers to present in a lightning round format at the ALA Annual meeting in Orlando on Saturday, June 25, 2016, from 4:30 – 5:30 pm. Presentations should be no more than 10 minutes long.
We are especially interested in technical services in the academic library setting (electronic resources management, acquisitions, serials, cataloging, or other functional areas.)
Possible topics include:
- E-book licensing and accessibility / ereserves
- Workflow adjustments
- Institutional repository and Digital assess management metadata and interoperability
- Project management skills for tech services staff
- Trends away from employing students as workflows change
- Implementing assessment tools and techniques in Technical Services
- Technical Services leadership and recruiting a new generation of TS managers
- Reskilling Technical Services staff to address emerging area of TS work (e.g., metadata creation for digital projects)
- Linked data and BIBFRAME
- Getting buy-in from faculty on collection weeding projects

• Presentation title
• Brief (150 words or less) summary of the proposed presentation
• Name and position of presenter
• Email address of presenter
