    Hi everyone,

Thank you for a great first meeting on Monday! For those who couldn't join us, we spent the first meeting talking about our responsibilities as a Committee and the Work Plan for the next year. You can find a copy of the Work Plan for your reference in our Committee's ALA Connect page. Minutes from the meeting will be posted shortly by our Vice-Chair in the same area.

Please find the link to the working legislative agenda for this year here:

We signed up at the meeting to take charge for different sections on the agenda. For those who were not able to make the first meeting, please take a look at the agenda and add your name to at least one section. We have two action items for our next meeting. 1) Please brainstorm if there are missing items that need to be on the agenda (or items that should be combined). 2) Start researching the area that you are assigned to and chat with your group mates (if you have them) about research. I do not expect your item to be done by our next meeting, but it would be a good idea to know some of the latest information about it. If there has not been much movement on something, we might decide to move it to the watchlist or delete the item all together. The final draft will be due April 1, 2025, so we have time!

I would like to schedule our next meeting in late October/early November to touch base before the holidays. Please fill out this Doodle Poll by September 27. https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/dwZyZlmb

Let me know if you have questions before then! Looking forward to working with everyone!
