AAHSL Library Leadership Fellows Program and Diversity Scholarship

  • 1.  AAHSL Library Leadership Fellows Program and Diversity Scholarship

    Posted Apr 14, 2021 02:57 PM

AAHSL is announcing two programs – a leadership training program and a leadership scholarship – focusing on librarians to want to pursue those leadership roles.

    • NLM/AASHL Leadership Fellows Program – 5 fellows are chosen each year to learn more about the knowledge and skills needed to become an AHSL director.  This program is for those interested in becoming directors as a next phase of their leadership career but recognizes that relevant experiences can be gained through various opportunities and not just traditional administrative positions. https://www.aahsl.org/leadershipfellowsprogram  Application deadline:  June 15,2021.

This program is sponsored by the National Library of Medicine and the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries.

    • Leadership Diversity Scholarship – awarded to librarians of color and under-represented groups who want to further their leadership skills and knowledge through educational programs focusing on leadership content.   Open to librarians from various library backgrounds who are interested in pursuing a leadership role in academic health sciences libraries.  Four awards of up to $1,500 are available.  Application information is available at:  https://aahsl.memberclicks.net/2021-aahsl-leadership-diversity-scholarships.  Application deadline is: May 14, 2021.

AAHSL is committed to increasing the diversity of library leadership in its health sciences libraries and encourages librarians of color and from other under-represented minorities to apply for these programs.

We also welcome nominations for these programs as well.  If you know of someone that might be interested in either, please send the person's name and email to plthibodeau@gmail.com.
