    Job Summary

    Responsible for supporting the growth, discovery, and use of the university's digital collections in the institutional repository Digital Commons@ETSU (https://dc.etsu.edu/) and faculty profiles in the Expert Gallery Suite (https://works.bepress.com/experts/east-tennessee-state-university/). This position would be responsible for project planning, metadata management, training and supervising student workers, quality control, and interacting with the system vendor to resolve problems. Responsibilities include the following:

    • Administering day-to-day operations of the institutional repository (IR) and related functions
    • Creating and maintaining IR structures and workflows
    • Receiving and preparing submissions
    • Performing advanced copyright research, corresponding with publishers, maintaining copyright documentation
    • Maintaining metadata standards and conducting quality checks on IR submissions
    • Hiring, training, and supervising assigned student workers including scheduling, work assignments, time reporting, and performance evaluation
    • Providing oral and written instructions for IR contributors and users
    • Maintaining documentation relevant to job duties
    • Compiling and reporting performance statistics
    • Collaborating to integrate the IR with other systems
    • Participating in software development projects involving the IR
    • Collaborating on related digital scholarship projects, such as ORCID
    • Reviewing professional literature and participating in job-related professional development
    • Performing other related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university
    • At least one year of full-time job-related experience or two years of part-time or student job-related experience. Preferred job-related experience to include, but not limited to, online searching for scholarly resources, detailed data entry.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in an academic library with experience in library cataloging/metadata, interlibrary loan, electronic course reserve, learning management system, web content management system, or institutional repository. Work experience as a student or part-time employee qualifies.
    • Experience with Digital Commons or other institutional repository or digital collection management system. Work experience as a student or part-time employee qualifies.
    • At least one year of supervisory experience.
