ANSS colleagues,
If you have yet to volunteer for an ANSS committee, please consider joining the Subject and Bibliographic Access Committee (SBAC). We are seeking new members! While most of the current committee members are catalogers, one does not need to be a cataloger to join the SBAC.
Throughout the year, SBAC members assist in educating the greater ANSS community by researching questions concerning cataloging issues and policies as well as reporting which Library of Congress subject headings are used to describe materials on specific topics in the disciplines of anthropology, sociology, criminology and criminal justice. The ANSS community is notified via ALA Connect when new cataloging Q&As have been posted to the ANSS website. Examples of our past cataloging Q&As may be found and read here: https://acrl.ala.org/anss/index.php/publications/cataloging-qa/.
If you wish to be considered for a committee appointment to the ANSS SBAC, complete the ACRL volunteer form by February 15, 2022. For more information and a link to the volunteer form, visit the ACRL website.
Thank you for your consideration.
